A female rap duo whose speed and rhythm would make any Japanese music listener become an instant fan with their catchy melody and artistic word play. Discovered by the famous J-Rap group Rip Slyme, HalCali made their first American debut on May 2008 at Anime Central in Chicago, Illinois. They have also performed on Japan Day on June 1st, 2008 in New York City.

Ino Hidefumi

This Miyazaki Prefecture born musician started playing the piano at age five and branched off into various instruments and genres ranging from jazz to electronic. He began his music career in 2004 by launching his own independent label, Innocent Records. He released his first album, "Satisfaction," in 2006. Music from that album was featured in New York City's very own Uniqlo branch in SoHo. His second album, "Living Message," was released in 2008 and received rave reviews from the indies scene.

Kawashima Ai

Born Feb 21, 1986. Her debut single, released in 2003, “Asu he no Tobira”, under the pseudonym “ai” of “I Wish”, sold a million units topping the Oricon Chart. Since then, she’s had many more singles and albums ranked in the chart. Her autobiography “ Saigo no Kotoba” ranked number one on the best seller lists and sold 300,000 copies. She’s completed an astonishing 1000 street performances. She has also worked with charities and built two schools in Cambodia and Burkina Faso in West Africa. The third school is under construction in Liberia and a fourth one has been planned.

She also did the movie theme song to "One Piece: The Desert Princess and the Pirates," "Place Promised in Our Early Days," and "Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon."

VAMPS is the musical brainchild of L’Arc~en~Ciel front man HYDE and Oblivion Dust’s guitar virtuoso K.A.Z. The two began collaborating in 2003 and their efforts resulted in the creation of VAMPS; arguably the most-anticipated band to come out of Japan in years. Their debut single, “LOVE ADDICT”, was released on July 2, 2008 and rocked the charts. In 2008, VAMPS played 46 live shows in 6 cities on the strength of their debut single alone!

After the release of their third single, VAMPS announced a June 10, 2009 release date for their first album; “VAMPS”. Hyde and K.A.Z’s outstanding charisma and the unprecedented popularity of VAMPS led to an invitation to perform in the "2009 Summer Rock Summit" taking place in Taiwan August 11 – 12, 2009.
